The Corrections Mail Inspector role with the Department of Corrections offers a chance to support safe and secure operations across the facility. Requirements
- Two years of clerical experience, including one year in the field of corrections; or Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspect items from postal and courier services to identify and stop contraband
- Retrieve and distribute admissible mail through coordination with facility departments
- Maintain logs and property records and respond to inmate requests
- Apply postal and departmental rules to ensure safe and proper mail handling
- Assist with related duties that promote secure and efficient operations
