Requirements

• Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach inmates food preparation, baking, equipment use, and safe sanitation practices
• Inspect food areas and supplies, adjust recipes, and ensure proper storage methods
• Plan and review inmate assignments and maintain records of performance
• Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates during work activities
• Receive, store, and track food items and supplies using established procedures
