Corrections Food Service Instructor - SCI Camp Hill
About The Position
This position provides hands-on instruction and leadership to inmate workers in food operation areas of SCI Camp Hill. It supports safe food production, orderly work routines, and the development of vocational skills. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Food Instruction: Teach inmates methods for food preparation, cooking, baking, and equipment use. Safety Oversight: Inspect tools, equipment, and food items to confirm that all safety and sanitation rules are followed. Work Direction: Assign tasks, review performance, and maintain accurate records for inmate workers. Supply Management: Receive, store, and rotate food items while reducing waste and supporting menu needs. Kitchen Supervision: Monitor inmate behavior and maintain care, custody, and control during work activities.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
