About The Position

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3 who is ready to take on a leadership role in managing major construction and maintenance efforts. In this position, you support planning, inspections, and coordination that keep facilities running safely and effectively. Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning, design, and construction activities while overseeing contractors and schedules
  • Review construction documents, inspect work, and advise staff on building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues
  • Assist maintenance managers with problem solving and provide guidance on repairs, standards, and policies
  • Support Guaranteed Energy Savings Act projects and explore initiatives that improve energy efficiency
  • Help develop training programs for facility maintenance managers to strengthen technical skills
  • Conduct inspections of utility plants and construction sites to confirm compliance with policies and project requirements
