About The Position

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking applicants for a Corrections Deputy (Certified) position. This role is responsible for the care, custody, and control of inmates, assisting in their rehabilitation, recovery, and reentry. Duties include escorting inmates, overseeing activities, managing incidents, conducting searches, monitoring security, preventing escapes, participating in transports, preparing reports, mentoring inmates, responding to requests and emergencies, and performing other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years old
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a US citizen
• Must have a valid driver license
• Applicants who do not possess an Associate's Degree or equivalent must successfully complete the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test and achieve a score of 267 or higher in Verbal Skills and 241 or higher in Quantitative Skills (math).
• Must have Florida Corrections Certification or currently be enrolled in EOT

Responsibilities
