About The Position

Performs a wide range of working level professional law enforcement duties related to operating the Washington County Jail including safety, supervision, booking, release, and inmate programs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED
  • Valid Utah Driver's License
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • At least 1 year of previous corrections officer experience as a Utah POST-certified BCO
  • Currently working with a corrections facility in this capacity or have been employed in this capacity within 12 months prior to the date of application
  • Out of State POST BCO / Corrections certified officers must contact Utah POST to ensure applicant is eligible to challenge the Utah BCO certification process to receive Utah POST BCO certification
  • Successfully complete all stages of the Washington County Sheriff's Office testing process (Physical Agility Test at POST BCO Entrance Standard, Background Investigation, Computer Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA), Interview, and Chemical Screening)
