About The Position

This position is located at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton, Burke County, NC. Foothills Correctional Institution is a close/minimum custody male facility. The Program Director II will work under the direct supervision of the Associate Warden of Programs and will have the responsibility to manage and provide supervision for various treatment, case management, and activity programs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in correctional programs management or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee inmate education, treatment, and rehabilitation programs.
Supervise, train, and evaluate program staff.
Ensure programs comply with agency policies, laws, and safety standards.
Develop and improve programs to support inmate rehabilitation and successful reentry.
Manage program budgets, resources, and daily operations.
Monitor program performance and prepare reports on outcomes.
Coordinate with security, medical, mental health, and community partners.
Ensure inmates have access to appropriate programs based on their needs.
Maintain accurate records and prepare for audits and inspections.
Support a safe, secure, and effective correctional environment while promoting positive inmate outcomes.
