About The Position

As a member of our Jail Medical Team, you will be working to provide nursing care within Polk County Jail. Typical duties include health education, performing physical exams, basic wound care, medication administration, maintaining inmate medical records, and collaborating with jail and other health partner staff as needed. This is a fast-paced environment working in a unique setting.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school for licensed practical nursing.
  • Three years of experience in public health or in a clinical setting; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license.
  • Must possess and maintain automobile insurance.
  • Must possess and maintain access to and use of a personal automobile as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care within Polk County Jail.
  • Perform health education.
  • Perform physical exams.
  • Provide basic wound care.
  • Administer medications.
  • Maintain inmate medical records.
  • Collaborate with jail and other health partner staff as needed.
