This position is responsible for conducting investigations for the Muscogee County Prison, as directed by the Warden. The role involves responding to and processing crime scenes, preparing investigative reports, and conducting both internal and external criminal investigations. Specific duties include investigating incidents such as assaults, contraband discovery, and violations of oath. The Investigator will coordinate with law enforcement, oversee contraband investigations, review evidence like videos and phone calls, present findings to the Warden, attend training, and testify in court. They will also inventory evidence, conduct P.R.E.A. investigations, manage the assessment and classification of the prison gang population, and act as a liaison between facility investigations, security, and other city departments. The role requires reviewing reports from officers, gathering and validating information on security threat groups and gang members, and interviewing staff and inmates.
