About The Position

This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates. Reporting to the Correctional Programs Supervisor, this position will carry a caseload of male medium custody level offenders which involves supportive counseling, answering and following up on questions and problems, and making recommendations to the classification committee.

Requirements

• MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
• Pass a criminal background check
• Produce a negative drug screening result
• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; OR High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
