About The Position

Shape Our Global Protection: Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager. Are you energized by driving international insurance strategy? Ready to make a tangible impact across multiple continents in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting? We are expanding our corporate Treasury & Insurance team at our Rotterdam headquarters and are looking for an ambitious professional to join us as our new Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager. In this dynamic role, you will take ownership of designing, managing, and optimizing our global insurance portfolio across Europe, North America, and Australia (with a primary focus on Europe and Australia). You will safeguard our people, assets, and operational resilience while collaborating closely with regional business units, brokers, and executive stakeholders. This position offers immense autonomy, global exposure, and direct business influence. You will lead key renewal processes end-to-end, champion risk mitigation, and serve as a trusted advisor to leadership worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, Business, or Law.
  • 5–8 years in international corporate insurance or risk management, ideally within a manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
  • Deep knowledge of European insurance markets is essential.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of industrial supply chain risks.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to production sites across Europe.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., FERMA Rimap, CII, CPCU) are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global insurance programs, including property damage, business interruption, cyber, liability, marine cargo, and D&O.
  • Secure cost-effective, high-quality coverage for all manufacturing plants, warehouses, and logistics networks.
  • Drive the end-to-end renewal process, analyzing exposures and negotiating terms with international brokers and insurers.
  • Standardize regional practices by developing and implementing a comprehensive Group Risk Manual.
  • Identify and evaluate operational and strategic risks across our production facilities and supply chains.
  • Partner with operations, legal, and safety teams to execute robust loss-prevention and audit initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk management to plant managers and regional directors.
  • Oversee claims management and investigations for European business units, tracking trends to minimize future losses.
  • Ensure full compliance with local insurance regulations and cross-border statutory requirements.
  • Monitor changing legislation and seamlessly translate updates into internal policies.
  • Forecast and manage the global insurance budget, ensuring smart premium allocation.
  • Analyze market trends to introduce innovative, cost-effective risk transfer solutions.
