About The Position

The Department of Computer Science is a top-ranked department for research and teaching. The External Relations team is seeking a Corporate Relations Coordinator to contribute to the successful completion of projects and events for the Corporate Partners in Computing (CPIC) program and other external relations activities. This position plays an integral role in supporting the team's activities, including planning and executing corporate sponsored career/internship recruiting events, managing CPIC member services, coordinating research meetings with industry, and collaborating with senior administrators on various tasks. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of professional program, outreach, or event coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Canva, and similar design products.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes corporate student events, speaker series, and other events targeted to students for CPIC.
  • Supports and stewards corporate partnerships by preparing proposals and invoices for prospective and current partners.
  • Tracks CPIC member activities.
  • Coordinates industry partner on-campus meetings.
  • Supports funding efforts for student groups, faculty and CPIC.
  • Prepares written briefings related to prospective companies, CPIC's year-end reports, and other CPIC related reports and newsletters.
  • Sources information and produces a student-facing weekly announcement of corporate and relevant department events for CPIC.
  • Produces a monthly newsletter for CPIC partners which highlights department events and news.
