About The Position

The Corporate Real Estate Sr. CAPEX Project Manager (Construction) will plan, direct, and oversee large capital expansion and new construction projects that support business growth and organizational effectiveness. This role manages end-to-end design and construction delivery, balancing scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors. The focus is on project planning, estimating, scheduling, budget development, risk management, documentation, and execution oversight from pre-planning through closeout. The position addresses complex project challenges by applying construction practices, maintaining project controls, ensuring compliance with requirements, and supporting health, safety, and environmental expectations. Through the delivery of corporate real estate construction initiatives and facility improvements, the role helps provide the infrastructure that supports reliable power operations and ongoing innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 15+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated achievements.
  • 15+ years of experience in construction and capital projects/programs.
  • Experience delivering construction and capital projects/programs and corporate real estate construction for new facilities and facility modifications, including health, safety, and environmental expectations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Advanced capability in MS Project or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, construction-related tools, and reporting tools that support project oversight.
  • Work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • PM or PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning and project strategy with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Direct and oversee third-party partners to deliver project milestones on schedule and within budget.
  • Build annual capital investment budgets and develop project cost estimates.
  • Manage estimating, plan development, scheduling, and project documentation, including scope, financial information, and risk plans.
  • Secure budget approvals using internal tools and processes.
  • Manage project risks, implement mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to practices and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, building codes, safety standards, and closeout requirements.
  • Serve as a key client contact and escalation point while maintaining stakeholder and vendor relationships through clear communication.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
