About The Position

United Way of the National Capital Area (NCA) is seeking a driven and passionate Corporate Partnerships Associate to join their team. This role is crucial for advancing United Way NCA's mission of ensuring equitable access to health, education, and economic opportunity for everyone in the community. The Associate will play a key role in cultivating diverse revenue streams and engaging corporate partners in new and meaningful ways. The position involves researching, prospecting, and managing a portfolio of corporate partners, with a focus on re-engaging lapsed partners, deepening relationships with existing ones, and identifying new opportunities for revenue growth. The Associate will help design and execute partner engagement strategies to enhance the corporate partner experience, increase retention, and drive measurable revenue outcomes. This role contributes to building a scalable corporate partner journey, strengthening internal fundraising infrastructure, and expanding opportunities for corporate, foundation, and employee giving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience; minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue and performance goals.
  • Strong research, prospecting, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing relationships and engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and data management.
  • At least one (1) year of fundraising, sales, or business development experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of cross-functional strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth, including clear financial benchmarks, relationship development goals, and structured engagement and stewardship approaches.
  • Support execution of corporate partnership strategies aligned with building diverse revenue streams.
  • Contribute to annual and long-term revenue plans focused on growth, multi-year funding, and partner retention.
  • Identify and pursue diversified funding opportunities, including sponsorships, workplace campaigns, and grants.
  • Track performance against revenue and engagement benchmarks and recommend improvements.
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate partners with accountability for approximately $750,000 in annual revenue.
  • Drive revenue growth through account expansion, retention, and re-engagement of lapsed partners.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate partners.
  • Develop and execute tailored engagement strategies based on partner goals and giving history.
  • Serve as primary relationship manager, ensuring a consistent, high-quality partner experience.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data to support forecasting, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Design and execute year-round engagement strategies to strengthen relationships and retention.
  • Collaborate internally to deliver customized engagement opportunities, including volunteerism, employee engagement campaigns, and community impact initiatives.
  • Support development of structured corporate partner journeys with intentional touchpoints.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate partners into leadership roles across initiatives and events.
  • Plan and support partner-facing events that reinforce stewardship and recognition.
  • Represent United Way NCA externally to support visibility and business development.
  • Collaborate with Finance to optimize use of employee giving platforms and tools.
  • Conduct research and prospecting to identify new corporate partners.
  • Expand revenue through new partnerships, multi-year commitments, and cross-sector opportunities.
  • Partner internally to deepen engagement within corporate accounts.
  • Support efforts to diversify funding sources, including foundation and government opportunities.
  • Maintain high-quality CRM data, reporting, and pipeline tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize giving platforms and revenue collection.
  • Support improvements to processes that enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide insights to strengthen systems and partner experience.
  • Partner with Marketing, Communications, and Fundraising to support integrated engagement and revenue strategies.
  • Ensure a cohesive and high-quality experience for corporate partners.
  • Share corporate partner insights to inform organizational strategy and engagement approaches.
