About The Position

The Corporate MRO Buyer purchases materials, equipment, supplies, and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. The position optimizes price, delivery, and terms while following company policies. As part of the Supply Chain team, the buyer helps procure goods and services and supports the distribution of products to customers and consumers. The role may also involve other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate and express ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally.
• Strong planning, organization, and execution skills.
• Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems, the Internet, spreadsheet software, Word, and Excel.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• A solid understanding of production planning within an MRP system.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
• Ability to travel 20%.

Nice To Haves

• P.M., A.P.P., or APICS certification.

Responsibilities

• Create purchase requisitions and rationalize inventory positions to optimize corporate working capital.
• Evaluate existing suppliers and recommend new suppliers.
• Assist in managing the RFQ and RFP process to determine commodity prices and the length of strategic agreements.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up or expedite as necessary.
• Identify potential suppliers and issue requests for quotations.
• Monitor market trends and conditions.
• Participate in brainstorming across various facilities.
• May facilitate weekly calls, publish meeting recaps, and follow up as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
