About The Position

The Corporate & Litigation Paralegal supports the Legal Department by providing litigation support, corporate governance and entity management support, intellectual property administration, and compliance administration. This role works closely with company attorneys to facilitate the efficient management of legal matters. The Corporate & Litigation Paralegal assists with coordination, recordkeeping, and administrative support to improve efficiency, maintain accurate records, and ensure the timely completion of legal department initiatives through a collaborative approach with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience, including 5+ years of direct litigation support experience in a litigation-focused law firm and/or an in-house legal department.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting litigation, disputes, claims, subpoenas, collections matters, and other legal proceedings from initiation to resolution.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims administration and reporting.
  • Proven ability to coordinate document collection efforts, document productions, discovery activities, litigation holds, and related matter management activities.
  • Experience coordinating with Information Technology teams on preservation efforts, document collections, email collections, records retrieval, or other discovery-related activities.
  • Exceptional ability to engage and collaborate with individuals across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, operations, finance, human resources, risk management, project teams, and legal personnel, as well as external counsel and a broad range of external parties, to efficiently collect information, manage records, and facilitate the successful handling of legal and business matters.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with construction-related disputes, engineering projects, or professional services organizations.
  • Experience supporting intellectual property administration, including tracking deadlines, records, and filings.
  • Experience supporting compliance programs, training initiatives, or compliance-related recordkeeping.
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program or similar credential, such as North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP).

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys with litigation, disputes, claims, subpoenas, and collections matters.
  • Assist with document collection efforts and maintain matter files.
  • Assist with document productions, discovery activities, and litigation hold processes.
  • Track custodians, deadlines, key dates, and matter status.
  • Assist with coordination of communications among outside counsel, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare chronologies, document summaries, and other case-support materials.
  • Assist with insurance claims administration and reporting.
  • Manage legal hold notices and monitor compliance with document preservation requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal custodians to identify, collect, and preserve electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Monitor outside counsel billings.
  • Maintain corporate records and entity files.
  • Track and coordinate entity formation, restructuring, and dissolution activities.
  • Maintain organizational charts and related entity records.
  • Coordinate signatures, notarizations, and related documentation.
  • Maintain trademark, patent, and other intellectual property records.
  • Track filing, renewal, and maintenance deadlines.
  • Support invention disclosure and intellectual property management processes.
  • Assist with maintaining IP databases and reporting.
  • Assist with administration of company compliance initiatives and related records.
  • Support compliance reporting, training, and other department projects as needed.
