About The Position

Factory is seeking a Corporate FP&A Lead to own how the company plans, measures, and communicates financial performance as it scales. It will also help build an AI-native finance function by using Factory's tools to automate traditional FP&A work. This is an in-office position, five days per week, in San Francisco.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in corporate FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or consulting.
  • Strong technical foundation in three-statement modeling, driver-based modeling, and long-range planning.
  • Strong command of annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and monthly and board reporting cadences.
  • Experience preparing board and investor materials and translating complex data into clear narratives for executives and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical rigor and judgment to evaluate financial opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs.
  • Fluency in SaaS and usage-based financials, including gross margin and COGS, opex and headcount planning, and board-relevant metrics.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a high-agency, hands-on mindset in a lean, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to form a point of view, make clear recommendations, weigh tradeoffs, and communicate effectively, with strong executive communication and low ego.
  • Enthusiasm for AI-assisted workflows and automation, with a tendency to build automation into one's work.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial planning and business intelligence tools such as Pigment or Anaplan.
  • Background in AI, ML, or cloud infrastructure economics.
  • Experience supporting capital raises or IPO readiness.
  • Fluency translating between GAAP and non-GAAP metrics.
  • Experience scaling a finance function and team through rapid growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own the corporate operating model that supports planning, scenario analysis, and strategic decisions.
  • Lead monthly business reviews with leadership by reporting results, explaining variances, and surfacing risks and opportunities.
  • Partner on board and investor materials and help shape the narrative of the business's direction.
  • Partner with GTM, Engineering, Operations, and G&A leaders on budgets, headcount, and COGS, providing a financial perspective on organizational investments.
  • Model infrastructure and compute economics and evaluate vendor commitments, pricing, and capital-allocation tradeoffs.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs for topline performance, unit economics, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Accounting on accurate, timely close and budget-versus-actuals, explaining performance, resolving discrepancies, and course-correcting early.
  • Build scalable FP&A systems, dashboards, and automated reporting that convert raw data into timely, decision-ready insight.
  • Build AI-native workflows for recurring finance analysis, using Factory's tools to reduce manual cycles and enable deeper analysis.
