About The Position

H & H Enterprises, Inc. (DBA TA Express / Coffee Cup Travel Plazas) is seeking an experienced Corporate Food & Beverage Manager to provide strategic and operational oversight of all food programs across our four travel center locations. This role is responsible for managing our branded franchise programs, Caribou Coffee, Subway, Pizza Hut, and Cinnabon, as well as our proprietary deli and food service operations. The Corporate Food & Beverage Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all franchise relationships, ensures brand compliance and food safety standards, drives sales performance, and develops food service staff across the organization. This is a hands-on, multi-site leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and a willingness to be present in stores.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of food service management experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-unit or General Manager role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more QSR or branded food franchise programs.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and food handler certification requirements.
  • Proven ability to analyze sales and operational data and translate findings into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); comfort with POS and retail reporting systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to store locations in South Dakota and North Dakota.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with travel center, convenience store, or high-volume fuel/food retail environments.
  • Familiarity with Caribou Coffee, Subway, Pizza Hut, or Cinnabon franchise systems.
  • Experience with PDI retail software or similar c-store/fuel retail management platforms.
  • ServSafe Manager certification (or equivalent), required within 90 days of hire if not current.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary company liaison for Caribou Coffee, Subway, Pizza Hut, and Cinnabon franchise relationships, including franchisor audits, inspections, and communications.
  • Ensure full brand standards compliance across all locations, including equipment, signage, menu execution, and promotional programs.
  • Manage franchise agreement obligations, renewal timelines, and coordinate with ownership and legal counsel on franchise-related matters.
  • Monitor and respond to franchisor scorecards, mystery shop reports, and audit findings with documented corrective action plans.
  • Identify and evaluate new QSR and food service franchising opportunities for existing locations, including concept fit, space requirements, sales potential, and franchisor terms.
  • Support new location development by leading food program planning and franchise selection for greenfield and expansion sites, with the next priority being the Sioux Falls travel center development.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform food concept decisions aligned with customer demographics and site traffic profiles.
  • Oversee development, standardization, and execution of the proprietary deli and prepared food programs across all locations.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for food preparation, portioning, packaging, presentation, and rotation.
  • Identify and introduce new deli items and LTOs (limited-time offerings) based on sales data, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Monitor shrink, waste, and spoilage; implement controls to optimize profitability.
  • Analyze food department sales, margin, and labor data using PDI retail reporting and other available tools to identify opportunities and trends.
  • Develop and manage food department budgets; track performance against targets and report variances to leadership.
  • Partner with operations leadership to set food sales goals and develop action plans to achieve them.
  • Evaluate category-level performance and make merchandising, pricing, and program recommendations accordingly.
  • Ensure all food service operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations, as well as applicable franchise standards.
  • Maintain and enforce HACCP plans, temperature logs, sanitation schedules, and related documentation at all locations.
  • Coordinate food handler certifications and ensure all food service staff are properly trained and current.
  • Lead preparation for health department inspections and follow up on any findings promptly.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for food service employees at all locations, covering brand standards, food safety, product knowledge, and guest service.
  • Partner with store managers to recruit, onboard, and develop food service team leads and staff.
  • Conduct regular site visits to coach, evaluate, and support food service personnel in all locations.
  • Build a culture of food quality, cleanliness, hospitality, and accountability across all food service areas.
  • Manage relationships with food and beverage vendors and suppliers; negotiate pricing and contract terms in coordination with ownership.
  • Monitor supply chain reliability and work with vendors to resolve shortages, substitutions, or quality issues.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory management, and product freshness standards across locations.
