About The Position

The Browne Center is currently hiring Corporate Facilitators to work on specific programs with a variety of populations from youth and students to non-profits, corporate and other adult groups. The Browne Center exists because we believe that human connections are the catalyst for positive change. We achieve this by designing and facilitating learning and development experiences. With a 30-year history of working with various types of organizations, the Browne Center is known for it’s leading-edge expertise in meaningful and actionable programs tailored to meet each individual client’s needs. Programs for clients range in scope from one-day experiences to multi-day – spread over the course of a year or back-to-back. Our facilities include: a 52-element challenge course, a climbing chimney, an orienteering course, all equipment to successfully manage and lead activities associated with aforementioned elements, a seminar building, yurts and access to over 100 acres on the Great Bay. The Browne Center has two broad client population groups it serves – Corporate/Organizational and Youth/Student. Requirements

  • Minimum acceptable education is a 4-year college degree; in a related field – Business, Organizational Behavior/Development, Education, etc.
  • Relevant practical experience leading teams and/or organizations
  • Experience with facilitating experiential learning activities and exercises
  • Have strong group facilitation, organizational development, or related interpersonal skill expertise.
  • Interact in a positive and professional manner with clients.
  • Have a solid foundation in professional experiential education methodologies – including integrating challenge course elements in program design.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired Certifications: include use of various behavioral instruments and assessments such as: DiSC, Leadership Practices Inventory, EQi, Thomas-Kilman Conflict Inventory, etc…

Responsibilities

  • Careful and intentional facilitation of group process to ensure a high quality and high-impact client experience.
  • Address client learning objectives by following program design provided to facilitators by Lead or Program Manager.
  • Management of risks – physical, social and emotional - associated with both group process as well as use of experiential activities including challenge course.
  • Responsible use and care of all Browne Center equipment including all props, climbing ropes, etc. All required equipment and facilities will be provided to each facilitator.
  • Delivery of one-off or multi-day programs focused on team dynamics, leadership, and various aspects of interpersonal skill development.
  • Facilitators are responsible for working with Browne Center Program Directors to meet specific client needs.
  • Delivery of programming both on-site at The Browne Center as well as off-site at hotels, conference centers, office locations.
  • Program Preparation (20%) May include meeting with clients ahead of program delivery, Meeting with co-Facilitators (if part of program design) for planning and coordination, Reading and becoming familiar with all program prep related materials. This may include a client briefing as well as customized activities, related articles/readings, etc., Prep and set-up on day-of program delivery, Travel, if required
  • Program Delivery (70%) Program facilitation and interfacing with clients
  • Follow-up (10%) Any related follow-up items with client. This may include summarizing notes from facilitated meetings, suggested follow-on readings to support the work of the group, etc., Post program debrief and proper return of gear/materials
