About The Position

MSC Cruises is seeking an interim Corporate Events Specialist. Based in Miami, FL, this role is responsible for planning and executing a portfolio of high-impact corporate events, including but not limited to inaugural events, delivery and naming ceremonies, government affairs events, diplomatic and protocol events, industry conferences, leadership meetings, media and journalist collaborations, and onboard experiences. The position will collaborate closely with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, shipboard teams, land-based teams, media partners, government representatives, and external vendors to deliver best-in-class events from concept development through final execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of event planning or event coordination experience.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours beyond regular business hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Comfortable handling materials up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Loop.
  • Experience creating polished decks, presentations, and executive-facing materials.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new digital tools and platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional presence.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior executives, media representatives, diplomats, and high-profile leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working with vendors, agencies, venues, protocol teams, and operational partners.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Meeting/Event Planner certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Cvent, Asana, or similar event/project management platforms preferred.
  • Cruise, travel, hospitality, luxury, or tourism industry experience preferred.
  • Public relations, communications, or government affairs experience is a plus.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • U.S. Passport or U.S. Permanent Resident status preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of strategic, high-visibility corporate events aligned with brand and business objectives.
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Strategic Events with execution of flagship events and priority initiatives.
  • Independently lead mid-level events with team support as needed.
  • Provide onsite event support, including travel, evening, and weekend coverage when required.
  • Coordinate a variety of event formats including executive meetings, dinners, receptions, cocktail parties, naming ceremonies, inaugurals, media events, and onboard experiences.
  • Manage event timelines, production schedules, vendor deliverables, and post-event wrap-up.
  • Coordinate Save the Dates, invitations, guest lists, RSVP tracking, seating plans, and attendee communications.
  • Support management of registration and event technology platforms.
  • Oversee promotional item ordering, inventory coordination, and shipping logistics.
  • Conduct warehouse visits to review inventory levels and prepare event shipments.
  • Coordinate travel, transportation, accommodations, security, protocol, and onsite operational needs for events.
  • Maintain accurate event files, planning documents, trackers, and post-event recaps.
  • Support purchase order processes, invoice reconciliation, and monthly budget tracking.
  • Prepare presentations, recap decks, reports, and executive-ready materials.
  • Manage large data sets related to attendees, rooming lists, registrations, budgets, and reporting.
