About The Position

A privately held and diversified group of affiliated companies is seeking a well-rounded attorney with five to ten years of relevant experience to join its in-house legal team in Ocala, Florida. The role requires a Juris Doctor degree, active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar, and broad experience in commercial contracts and corporate transactional matters. The position emphasizes strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters independently and communicate legal issues clearly to non-lawyers. A practical, collaborative, and business-focused approach is essential. The role is full-time, Monday-Friday, and requires the candidate to be based in or willing to relocate to the Ocala, Florida area and work on-site.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
  • Five to ten years of relevant legal experience.
  • Meaningful experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Experience with corporate transactional matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage numerous matters and competing priorities with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to recognize significant legal and business risks and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely to business professionals.
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Ocala, Florida.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience with zoning, land use, permitting, development approvals, or related governmental matters.
  • Experience with equestrian-related law or equestrian businesses, transactions, operations, events, or disputes.
  • Litigation or litigation-management experience.
