About The Position

Onsite Partner’s mission is to empower each customer in achieving success through the design and delivery of collaborative, creative and comprehensive energy solutions. As Corporate Counsel at OnSite Partners, you will provide pragmatic, business-focused legal support for the development, construction, and operation of behind-the-meter energy projects. This role requires experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and managing disputes. This role reports to the General Counsel.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate, licensed to practice law in state of Ohio
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm and/or in-house), with demonstrated strength in commercial contracting
  • Strong legal judgment and business acumen
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
  • Comfort supporting disputes and litigation management in partnership with outside counsel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with renewable and/or distributed energy
  • Experience supporting energy, construction, and/or infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, power purchase agreements, site leases, easement agreements, interconnection agreements, and agreements related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of behind-the-meter energy projects
  • Provide legal support for real estate and site control matters, including title/survey review support, and coordination with internal and external real estate resources
  • Manage and support litigation, claims, and disputes, including pre-litigation strategy, preservation and information collection, managing outside counsel and supporting settlement negotiations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the development, construction, and operations teams by providing practical legal guidance regarding project structure and terms, identifying and mitigating risk, and helping drive projects from inception to commissioning
  • Provide timely updates to the General Counsel on key legal matters, risks, and disputes, and escalating issues as appropriate
