About The Position

The Corporate Controller oversees general accounting functions, financial reporting, payroll oversight, budgeting support, audit coordination, and revenue cycle collaboration. This position plays a critical role in providing financial analysis and insights that support sound decision-making and advance CareFlite's mission and strategic objectives. This position will play the key leadership role in an ERP conversion and implementation in the next several months.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and audit practices.
  • Experience with healthcare finance and a solid understanding of revenue cycle operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting and finance staff.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Revenue recognition experience, preferably in healthcare, is required
  • ERP implementation experience (hands-on) is required

  • Experience in healthcare, EMS, hospital, or nonprofit healthcare environments.
  • Active CPA credentials
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and IRS Form 990 reporting.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership, boards, and finance committees.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team.
  • Provide financial analysis, trend reporting, and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support organizational growth initiatives, operational improvements, and financial system implementations.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Lead the conversion of the ERP system with outstanding project planning and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Support cost containment and operational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with annual operating budget development and monitoring.
  • Develop financial models and provide analysis.
  • Analyze financial forecasts and business trends to support leadership planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with outsourced revenue cycle partners to ensure accurate billing and collections.
  • Monitor revenue performance and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and lead the annual audit process.
  • Coordinate regulatory, internal, and external audits.
  • Support preparation of IRS Form 990 documentation.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and healthcare regulations and implement necessary updates.
  • Provide oversight of payroll processing and accounts payable operations.
  • Support administration of employee benefit and insurance programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
  • Establish performance expectations and support professional development initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships across clinical, operational, and administrative departments.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with vendors, auditors, and external stakeholders.
