About The Position

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Corporate Controller to lead all accounting operations for Hitachi Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of a global technology organization. Reporting to the CFO, this highly visible leader will own financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, compliance, and ERP optimization, while supporting the company’s continued growth in the federal marketplace. This role serves as the organization’s accounting leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership, responsible for scaling financial operations, strengthening governance, enabling data-driven decision-making, and ensuring readiness for current and future government contracting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 12+ years progressive accounting/finance experience
  • 5+ years in Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent leadership role
  • Experience in $50M+ revenue environments preferred
  • Strong background in federal contracting, SaaS, or hybrid product/service organizations
  • Deep NetSuite experience (Advanced Revenue Management strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, revenue recognition, and intercompany accounting
  • Working knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA requirements, indirect rates, and project accounting

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and cost accounting functions.
  • Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and manage intercompany accounting, variance analysis, and consolidation activities.
  • Partner with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Establish accounting policies, indirect cost structures, labor charging practices, and project accounting frameworks aligned with FAR, CAS, and evolving DCAA requirements.
  • Design and maintain a scalable internal control environment appropriate for a growing federal contractor.
  • Lead external audits and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, statutory requirements, and revenue recognition standards across product and service lines.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and professional development pathways.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective workload management and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as primary owner of NetSuite ERP.
  • Drive optimization across financial modules, reporting, automation, and workflows.
  • Oversee system enhancements, integrations (e.g., Salesforce, Certinia, Anaplan), user access, and KPI/dashboard development to improve financial visibility and efficiency.
  • Ensure accounting processes are scalable for federal contracting requirements, including allowable cost tracking, billing accuracy, and indirect rate management.
  • Partner with program management and contracts teams on compliance and project accounting.
  • Collaborate with global headquarters on IFRS consolidation and close cycles.
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and special projects as needed.
