About The Position

Manage the daily financial operations for our local manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include managing costs in administration, manufacturing, sales, and engineering. This individual will enforce the accounting policies and procedures set forth by IDC; safeguard company assets; manage back-office staff that includes but is not limited to (AP, AR, Customer Service, Purchasing, Tech Support [RMA], and IT), and provide comprehensive financial reports to senior management with thorough analysis and evaluations of financial data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 10+ years of proven accounting experience
  • 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong working knowledge of and experience in the annual budgeting process
  • Ability to provide comprehensive financial data analysis
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, co-workers, and management regarding business financial matters

Nice To Haves

  • 3 – 5 years of manufacturing accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing IDC’s policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard company assets by establishing, enhancing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Support manufacturing locations in understanding and resolving manufacturing accounting issues to improve the accuracy of financial information.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to produce product costing that includes material tracking, labor, and direct overhead costs.
  • Manage the month-end close process, and issue monthly financial statements to Senior Management.
  • Analyze and understand manufacturing location variances, including expense, absorption, variances, sales, and cost of sales to be reviewed monthly with Senior Management.
  • Assure accuracy of inventory for a manufacturing location, assuring that at least 100% of inventory is counted either via cycle counting or a physical.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department managers to prepare the annual budget and present it to Senior Management for review and approval.
  • Hire and develop back-office, accounting, purchasing, and tech support staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
  • Oversee back-office, accounting, purchasing, and tech support staff by planning, monitoring, coaching, counseling, and appraising job performances.
  • Primary backup for bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or CFO.
