About The Position

Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Corporate Communications Intern. This temporary, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, Ohio, facility and reports to Terri Smith, Director of North America Marketing. The internship focuses on contributing to the company's mission and values through various communication tasks.

Requirements

• Strong grammar and writing skills.
• Focus on details.
• Basic journalism and/or public relations knowledge.
• Experience with desktop design (Adobe Creative Suite) is a must.
• Evidence of work authorization upon employment is required in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
• Completion of USCIS form I-9 will be required to verify employment eligibility within three business days of the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Associated Press Style is a plus.
• Major in communications, or in dairy- or animal-science with a communications focus, or a related area of study.
• Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees.
• Students in their junior or senior year are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
• Production of Select Sires’ yearly breeding calendars.
• Writing press releases and customer testimonials.
• Help coordinate trade show logistics and materials.
• Assist with desktop publishing projects, including advertisements, brochures and flyers.
• Perform clerical duties.
• Participate in photoshoots.
