About The Position

Robert Half, recognized by FORTUNE as one of the World's Most Admired Companies and a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, is seeking a Corporate Communications Intern to join its Corporate Communications department. This internship offers the opportunity to gain practical work and business-related experience within a communications department at Robert Half. The corporate communication department is responsible for all internal and external messaging, aiming to generate exposure for new initiatives and share newsworthy stories about the company. Through a combination of individual and team assignments, interns will develop job-related skills, working knowledge, and experience via personal training, mentoring, hands-on experience, and providing assistance as needed. Collaboration, communication, and coordination with work teams and other departments are key to achieving learning objectives and quality results. This communications internship will provide an understanding of business processes, build technical skills, and sharpen area-specific abilities such as proofreading, editing, writing, and research, while also helping interns gain transferable experience and identify potential specialization paths.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s, master’s, or MBA program in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, MIS, Accounting, Finance, Economics) or an RHI-approved program (e.g., Year Up, NPower) for eligible and approved credits.
  • Veterans, students in accredited Associate Degree programs and those re-entering the workforce are also eligible to apply for internship.
  • No previous professional experience required.
  • Ability to apply basic technical/ operational knowledge to different tasks and projects.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 overall, 3.0 major (as applicable, may not apply to Military, Vets and candidates re-entering the workforce).
  • Visa Status: All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Graduation Status: For College Student Interns - Must be within two years of graduation from a four-year college or completed two years within a Junior College.
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently.
  • Must work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a desire to learn and a receptiveness to feedback and mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a solid understanding of tasks, processes, standards, and desired outcomes in the selected area.
  • Gain experience with the appropriate tools and processes common to the selected area.
  • Identify and analyze data relevant to the selected area.
  • Attend meetings for observation and understanding of projects and operations.
  • Define process issues (business and technology system) relevant to assigned work.
  • Assist team members and clients (if applicable) with processes as requested (e.g., review, documentation, testing, implementation).
  • Conduct research as needed.
  • Apply appropriate technical standards to assigned work.
  • Enhance troubleshooting, problem-solving, and support skills.
  • Enhance understanding of problems, both typical and unexpected, associated with the selected area.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving problems using appropriate and available training, procedures, tools, and resources.
  • Work with subject matter experts, departmental and cross-functional co-workers/teams, and potentially vendors to resolve issues.
  • Help identify new approaches to address operational and technical issues.
  • Gain experience that promotes resourceful and efficient troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Build customer service skills by providing assistance to clients and others.
  • Gain communication and collaboration experience.
  • Practice verbal and written communication skills and processes (e.g., working with co-workers, documentation of work; project planning; clear reporting; coordination of activities) that ensure a high-quality outcome.
  • Gather information as needed, using appropriate techniques for the selected area.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional fashion with appropriate stakeholders to advance project tasks as needed.
  • Gain valuable team skills through regular collaboration and communication, within and across various teams, to understand the impact and efficiencies of cross-functional integration of projects.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts by providing constructive feedback, suggesting alternatives, and driving continuous process improvement.
  • Clarify professional goals through regular communication and feedback from mentor.
