About The Position

Alabama Ag Credit is a financial institution that provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness and rural real estate purchases and improvements. The institution is headquartered in Montgomery with ten offices that service the lower 40 counties of Alabama. With over $1.5 billion in assets, the institution is a cooperative and part of the nationwide Farm Credit System. This role leads the development, growth, and ongoing management of the Association’s most complex corporate and agribusiness relationships within the portfolio, including mission-related investments, delivering an exceptional client experience from origination through renewal and servicing. The position involves partnering with Lenders and Credit Analysts to analyze financial and industry information, structure and underwrite transactions, negotiate terms, and recommend sound credit decisions aligned with Association standards and risk appetite. The role also proactively manages servicing plans and covenant compliance, identifies emerging risks and opportunities, and provides clear, timely portfolio reporting to management. Additionally, the Corporate Agribusiness Relationship Manager builds and maintains strong relationships with customers, prospective customers, participants, and key influencers, and serves as a trusted resource and mentor by sharing expertise in agribusiness, credit, and public-sector lending. The role partners with the Vice President of Capital Markets to sell large transactions to Farm Credit System and Commercial Bank participants. At the discretion of Alabama Ag Credit, this position may be offered at alternate titles and other business experience may be considered relevant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience
  • Experience should include a broad understanding of lending regulations, complex debt structuring, credit operations, and credit practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public relations and communication skills are required.
