Corporate Accounting Manager

NexHealth•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

NexHealth is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager to own the accuracy and speed of the company’s books and modernize its accounting processes. The role combines a disciplined, auditable close with modern data and AI tooling, with the goal of making a fast close routine rather than a monthly sprint. The manager will oversee the month-end close and financial reporting, lead an offshore accounting team, and build automation for core accounting workflows. The role also covers payroll accounting and operations, equity accounting support, financial and operational dashboards, finance data warehouse improvements, and audit readiness. The position works closely with Data Science, Engineering, Revenue Operations, Finance, and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Strong experience running the month-end close at a scaling SaaS, payments, or technology company.
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, accruals, and multi-entity accounting.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Experience leading offshore or distributed accounting teams across time zones, including setting standards and reviewing work for quality.
  • Track record of building automation with LLMs or agentic workflow tools and ability to explain a project built and its impact.
  • Strong grasp of internal controls, data completeness, and audit trail design, with processes that can handle growing transaction volume and complexity.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with Snowflake or a similar data warehouse; able to write queries independently.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and experience with payroll, spend management, BI, and cap table platforms, such as Rippling, Ramp, Sigma, Looker, and Carta or similar.
  • Comfort with technical accounting research and translating conclusions into practical policies and entries.
  • Sound judgment when working with imperfect data, including keeping the close moving while resolving underlying data issues.
  • Clear communication with Data Science, Engineering, Revenue Operations, and Finance partners; ability to adapt communication to technical and leadership audiences and document decisions.
  • Interest in applying LLMs and agentic workflows to corporate accounting, and willingness to address operational problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Big 4 or other public accounting experience.
  • Experience at a fast-growing SaaS business through multiple stages of scale.
  • Experience with payroll accounting for international teams through an employer of record.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end month-end close, including the calendar, owners, dependencies, and sign-off, and work toward a four-business-day close.
  • Lead the offshore accounting team by setting priorities, reviewing work, and assigning close tasks, reconciliations, and recurring accounting work with clear checklists and turnaround expectations.
  • Set review standards for flux analysis and balance sheet reconciliations, and own the quality of GAAP financial statements across accounts.
  • Design and implement automation and AI agents for reconciliations, flux commentary, journal entry preparation, anomaly detection, and close tracking.
  • Own payroll accounting and operations in Rippling, including international hires through an employer-of-record partner, and ensure accurate accruals, reconciliations, and payroll controls.
  • Partner on equity management in Carta, including grant and exercise processing, cap table reconciliation to the general ledger, and stock-based compensation.
  • Build financial and operational reporting and dashboards in Sigma for leadership.
  • Partner with Data Science to build and improve the finance data warehouse in Snowflake so reconciliations, close checks, and reporting use trusted, reconcilable data.
  • Lead audit readiness with external auditors by building schedules, maintaining workpapers, and completing auditor requests on time.
  • Identify risks, control gaps, and process issues early, and document decisions to support scalable systems and processes.
