About The Position

QuadReal Property Group is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Corporate Accountant (14-Month Contract). As an integral member of the Corporate team, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the full cycle corporate accounting processes. We are looking for a candidate with a strong financial acumen with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, a confident individual who possesses a positive attitude, excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities to meet strict deadlines. The corporate finance team is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Obtained the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (or equivalent) or passed the CPA designation exam
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance accounting / reporting environment
  • Strong proficiency with Excel functions and working with large volumes of data

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Yardi or similar accounting software is an asset
  • Interest or experience in the real estate industry is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support performing full cycle day-to day accounting functions, including: Processing purchases, payments, and payables process
  • Preparing account reconciliations for accrued liabilities
  • Assisting with the monthly bank reconciliation process
  • Supporting the completion of the monthly government and regulatory filings (i.e., GST/HST, QST returns)
  • Reviewing the monthly accounting packages of the international offices
  • Supporting the accounting for capital assets and leases under IFRS
  • Prepare quarterly variance analysis and support the preparation of the Management Reporting package
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly financial statements and related note disclosure
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to prepare related party reconciliations
  • Supporting the accounting for the international offices, including accounting for foreign exchange transactions and translations
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Accounting Assistant to ensure invoices are processed on a timely basis, and review coding of payments to confirm it’s appropriate.
  • Support processes for annual internal / external audits including creating working papers
  • Support various special projects as they arise
