About The Position

Dream is looking for a Corporate Accountant! We are always looking for the best and brightest to join our thriving community. Dream Summit’s Corporate Accounting team is currently looking for a Corporate Accountant who is eager to learn, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. The Corporate Accountant will be a key member of the Dream Summit team, supporting the accounting and reporting for the Dream Summit joint venture and the related property manager, as well as other private joint ventures at Dream. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across a diverse range of real estate asset classes, including industrial, multi-family residential, and development, all within businesses that are experiencing strong growth.

Requirements

  • University or college accounting program graduate;
  • CPA designated, or currently enrolled and pursuing a CPA designation;
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with general accounting or full-cycle month-end close processes, either in a full-time role or co-op position;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines;
  • Independent and self-motivated with a strong prioritization mindset committed to meeting deadlines and getting things done;
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work;
  • Strong work-ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams;
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel;

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to, or experience in, real estate is an asset;
  • Experience with JD Edwards is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly general accounting responsibilities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, working papers and financial analysis for various corporate entities and joint ventures;
  • Prepare corporate bank account reconciliations;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis of actuals versus budget;
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for joint venture partners and management;
  • Contribute to the preparation of consolidated financial statements, including notes, in accordance with IFRS;
  • Assist with providing documentation for external auditors;
  • Support the Corporate Accounting team in leveraging AI and automation tools;
  • Assist with various special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Corporate Accounting function, including an ERP conversion taking place in 2026;
  • Contribute to the successful integration of new acquisitions, including supporting the preparation of acquisition entries related to asset acquisitions and new financings, and providing support to third-party property accounting teams;
  • Prepare legal entity financial statements for tax and debt compliance;
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Treasury, Tax, Debt, Development, and Property Accounting, and provide support for related ad-hoc requests.
