About The Position

American Rheinmetall provides full services for complex mechanical products, fabricated structures and systems, ranging from complete design services to prototype manufacturing, testing, production launch, full rate production, and product service and sustainment. The company operates four facilities, three in Michigan (Plymouth, Lansing, Lapeer) and one in Ohio (St. Mary's), specializing in various areas like suspension, driveline, track systems, fabrications, armor product solutions, and rubber track products. The Corporate Accountant will aid in processing all cash and accounts payable functions as needed, assist with month/year-end closing processes related to Cash, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable, and work with the Finance team to improve department efficiencies. This position reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to download and organize data in Excel.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Costpoint and Plex computer software.
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Basic knowledge of general ledger entry functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing bank transactions and completing a cash control sheet daily.
  • Responsible for processing and entering incoming cash receipts in the computer system and attaching all corresponding supporting documentation.
  • Assist Corporate Accounting Manager with Cash Forecasting.
  • Responsible for processing new customer set-up information.
  • Reconciles general ledger Accounts Receivable monthly.
  • Assist in monthly and annual closings.
  • Backup Account Receivable Analyst position.
  • Assist with overflow from Account Payable as needed.
  • Reconciliation of Intracompany pricing/margin for manufacturing sites.
  • Assist with fixed asset inventories.
  • Lead month-end close for BU entity with journal entry preparation and P&L analysis.
  • Completion of account reconciliations for BU entity.
  • Assists with related special projects, as required.
