The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking motivated law enforcement officers to join their team. The Office of Judicial Marshals is a law enforcement agency responsible for providing a safe and secure environment within the court system. This position involves the supervision of Deputy Judicial Marshals in the absence of the Sergeant, ensuring the safety and security of judges, court staff, jurors, witnesses, and the public. Corporals may be responsible for Deputy Judicial Marshals at multiple locations and must be able to handle intense situations, moving quickly from observation to direct confrontation. They are the first line of defense for the court system during entry screening. Corporals must be able to travel and work in different locations with short notice, including potential night and weekend assignments. The Corporal assists the Sergeant in coordinating judicial marshal services, including trials, emergency procedures, courthouse safety, security training, threat assessment, health and safety, and inter-agency coordination.
