About The Position

The Core Products Specialist is responsible for providing assistance and support to the Core Products Manager for diverse core product development/management functions and projects within the Retail PMO division. The Core Products analyst must also be in compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations and focus on Business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years proven experience in retail/corporate banking or financial services.
  • Analytical, fact-based and the ability to synthesize and organize data/information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to drive consensus with vendors and cross-functional internal and external teams.
  • Ability to translate product details into practical business terms for communication to internal teams and clients.
  • Proficient use of various computer software and banking applications
  • In depth knowledge of all bank policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality, security and safekeeping of bank and customer information
  • Takes responsibility for own actions; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with structured methodology, core banking systems, and project planning preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing product strategies based on business objectives that deliver measurable business results.
  • Portuguese and Spanish highly recommended, and in some departments required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee tasks delegated by the Core Products Manager, coordinate with all necessary vendors and service providers, and ensure that the tasks and tickets are moving forward on time and on budget.
  • Work collaboratively with the core product manager and team to maximize productivity.
  • Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle.
  • Organize and monitor schedules and see that deadlines are met.
  • Report updates verbally and in written form to management.
  • Monitor budget and help ensure resources are used efficiently.
  • Help discern requirements and assign tasks to team members.
  • Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research and email.
  • Facilitating teleconferences, meetings and training sessions; Assist in creating the process, documentation and procedures for implementing Core Banking System interim releases and upgrades.
  • Manage core deposit products available in traditional branch structure and alternative (online) channels.
  • Monitor product compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Be a point of contact for ticket requests and escalations.
  • Maintains reports, records and documentation ensuring complete, accurate and concise records are kept.
  • Maintains full knowledge and understanding of bank policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements, including but not limited to BSA/AML, CDD, EDD, and others as defined by the Compliance Division and Information Security Division
  • Attends and/or complete all required training as assigned, including weekends.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and policies by completing tasks on a timely manner.
  • Acts within Signature Authority Level, if applicable
  • Adhere to the bank’s Employee Handbook and respect all its norms.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of bank policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements, including but not limited to BSA/AML, CDD, EDD, and others as defined by the Compliance Division and Information Security Division
  • Attend and/or complete all required training as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position
