About The Position

Perform all operations to make sand dies to proper specifications. This includes mixing specified types and amounts of sand using sand mullers and operating a continuous sand maker, adding necessary binders and other ingredients. The role involves selecting core box, bench, or floor making facilities and making cores to designated specifications. Responsibilities also include inspecting cores for quality, checking dimensional and surface quality, fitting and assembling multi-piece cores, and patching or repairing cores as needed. The position requires close adherence to core-making procedures, including controls, measures, and documentation, and making recommendations for core making improvements. Additionally, the role involves performing grinding on castings and assisting and instructing new employees.

Requirements

Sand core making experience preferred.
Solid math skills and experience with a variety of measuring instruments.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Must have or be able to attain forklift certifications.
Experience with overhead cranes strongly preferred.
