Lesley University is seeking a full-time, twelve-month Temporary Core Faculty of Music Therapy to join their Expressive Therapies department. This department integrates counseling and various arts, focusing on using creativity to address mental and psychological issues for diverse clients. The faculty member will teach courses in the Music Therapy specialization, which can be delivered face-to-face, hybrid, or online. Responsibilities extend beyond teaching to include participation in accreditation and student engagement efforts such as recruitment, admissions, and advising. The department aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for practice in various professional settings like healthcare facilities, schools, community agencies, and private practices. The 60-credit programs are designed to meet the requirements for mental health counselor licensure in Massachusetts and prepare graduates for national certification. The program, founded over 50 years ago as one of the first graduate programs in expressive therapies, continues to innovate in training professionals in this field. The faculty, comprised of artist-practitioner-scholars, guides students in developing their identities as both artists and clinical mental health providers.
