About The Position

The Core Platform Bring-up team within Apple’s CoreOS organization is seeking a software engineer to debug and bring up next-generation Apple devices. The team builds integrated operating systems combining hardware, software, and services. The role works on core technologies across Apple products, supporting their development and shipment through cross-disciplinary collaboration in an environment focused on product innovation, rapid iteration, and autonomy.

Responsibilities include supporting requirements across a variety of Apple products; bringing up, verifying, and debugging new SoCs and hardware platforms; developing firmware, drivers, and hardware abstraction layers; driving product features and functional and industry specifications; and participating in hardware platform specifications.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for embedded development.
• High proficiency in C/C++.
• Knowledge of hardware platforms and processor architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.

• Ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules.

• Experience with JTAG and other debuggers.
• Previous experience writing embedded device drivers.
• Previous experience with platform bring-up or porting operating systems.
