About The Position

The Core Platform Bring-up team within Apple’s CoreOS organization seeks a software engineer to work on next-generation iOS device technology. The role focuses on bringing up, verifying, and debugging new hardware platforms for Apple products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Mac. The engineer develops firmware and drivers, contributes to product features and industry specifications, and participates in hardware platform specification work. The position spans the full hardware bring-up lifecycle, from pre-silicon simulation through first boot on real silicon. It involves developing low-level firmware, debugging hardware and software issues on simulators and in the lab, collaborating with silicon design, driver, security, and validation teams, and reviewing hardware specifications before silicon is built. The engineer takes end-to-end ownership of platform features and builds tools and automation to improve future bring-up efforts. The team describes its environment as supporting product innovation, rapid iteration, and autonomy.
