About The Position

The Core Platform Bring-up team within Apple’s CoreOS organization is seeking a software engineer to work on debugging and bringing up next-generation Apple devices. The team builds integrated operating systems that combine hardware, software, and services into a unified Apple experience. The role works on core technologies across Apple products and contributes to how products are developed and shipped. The working environment emphasizes product innovation, rapid iteration, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and autonomy.

Requirements

• Genuine passion for embedded development.
• High proficiency in C/C++.
• Knowledge of hardware platforms and processor architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.
• Proven creative and critical-thinking skills, and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules.
• Excellent collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with JTAG and other debuggers.
• Previous experience writing embedded device drivers.
• Previous experience with platform bring-up or porting operating systems.
• Previous exposure to hardware and processor simulation.

Responsibilities

• Work with multifunctional teams to support requirements for a wide variety of Apple products.
• Bring up, verify, and debug new SoCs and hardware platforms.
• Develop firmware, drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.
• Drive product features and functional and industry specifications.
• Participate in specification development for hardware platforms.
