About The Position

The WISe Coordinator is a formal member of a team specifically trained to coordinate and facilitate the WISe process for an individual youth and family. They provide advanced care coordination activities within the phases and activities of the WISe Program. The WISe Coordinator is part of a team that provides intensive wrap-around services and support to youth and their families by listening, encouraging, coaching, empowering, building skills, and coordinating with available resources suited to their recovery needs as identified on the Children and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment. A WISe Coordinator will ensure active participation in the implementation of the Cross Systems Care plan while assuring quality mental health services that contribute to the well-being of the citizens in Grant County. Renew provides individual and/or group treatment services to persistently mentally ill individuals and individuals with emotional, behavioral, and other mental disorders to enhance independent choice, satisfaction, and optimum participation in the community, family, and employment or education environments. This position requires flexibility in workdays and hours to ensure the essential needs of clients and families are met. This position is represented by the Teamsters Local Union #760. All employees hired in this position are required to become and remain members in good standing of the Union within 30 days of beginning employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in education, psychology, social work or related field plus three (3) years of community/educational outreach experience OR, a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities required.
  • Two (2) years of direct service experience with children and families of targeted population.
  • Knowledge of family support principles and practice, early childhood development and family development.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong personal computer operations skills including Word, Excel, Desktop Publishing.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Must have a safe reliable vehicle with proof of automobile insurance.
  • Background Check: Must have an acceptable background report, at time of hire and every three years afterward.
  • Driving Abstract: Must have an acceptable driving report.
  • Must maintain an active Washington State Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor Credential.
  • CPR, First Aid Certifications, TB test record (within first 90 days).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements goals and objectives in coordination with the identified needs of the CANS assessment, CFT meetings, and WISe criteria.
  • Follows and implements Evidence Based Practices in meeting the individual needs of the youth and family.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with each team and family, utilizing a strength-based recovery model.
  • Provides for quality assurance in the program, including a parent evaluation component.
  • Works closely with community organizations and schools to ensure a coordinated family support program to assist the project’s targeted population.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of activities for all family participants.
  • Ensures the WISe principles are being met with each family served in the program.
  • Coordinates and guides the CFT treatment teams.
  • Communicates regularly with each service provider involved with each WISe participant.
  • Conducts outreach in the community to educate referral sources on the program.
  • Advocates for the values of a diverse population within Grant County.
  • Assures services are provided which support the individual’s rights and are compatible with the particular culture and primary language of the individual.
  • Actively participates in training and other meetings, whether in or out of office, as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
