About The Position

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Veterans Education & Transition Services (VETS) program. This includes supervising and training the VA Work Study program students, oversight of VETS social media platforms and accounts, and all other coordination functions of the unit to include correspondence with internal and external agencies. The position reports to the Director of VETS. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Knowledge of University systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures to include UA Foundation.
  • Knowledge of Veterans benefits and VA.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various groups.
  • Ability in giving direction and monitoring progress of delegation.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Program management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft office, marketing, budgeting and planning of larger scale events.
  • Experience working with military connected students and agencies.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs: specifically, policies and procedures for work site supervisor and VA Benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of VETS (Veterans Education & Transition Services) Center Program: Participate in all planning and logistics for VETS events including managing budgets and working with vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to expand program reach and impact.
  • Evaluate policies and practices to identify and address potential biases and barriers.
  • Program Management: Maintain unit listservs, phone contacts, directories, shared drives, mailboxes, office supplies and equipment, student position postings etc.
  • Assist the Director with annual SSF funding and reporting.
  • Serve as a Purchase Card holder ensuring proper P-Card usage and reporting, including collecting/uploading receipts, making departmental orders.
  • Manage department calendar.
  • VA Work Study Program Site Supervisor: Serve as supervisor for approximately 30 VA Work Study students including managing contracts and time sheets for work studies.
  • Responsible for new hire training and directing daily tasks.
  • Serve as Site Supervisor for Department of Veterans Affairs Work Study Program within VETS.
  • Submit contracts and hours sheets for all work studies.
  • Mitigate pay issues, if they arise.
