About The Position

The Retail Department Supervisor is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, keeping the store clean and organized, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor. The role trains and mentors Associates in merchandising and processing principles, monitors team productivity, coaches as needed, organizes back stock for replenishment, and maintains merchandising, signage, backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards. The Coordinator communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, and supports store safety, compliance, credit and loyalty programs, and shrink reduction goals.

Requirements

1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
