About The Position

The Retail Department Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator supports the flow of merchandise from truck delivery to the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and works with management to address priorities and training needs. The position also supports store safety, shrink reduction, credit and loyalty programs, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Requirements

• One year of retail experience.
• Six months of leadership experience.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Able to multitask.
• Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Team player who works effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Able to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to train others.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive internal and external customer experience and model exceptional customer service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Coordinate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
• Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
