This position is an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator, Residency Program - Urology - Mineola to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the residency training program, serving as a liaison between the Program Director, the Director of Academic Affairs, subdivisions, residents, and medical students. The role may involve providing direction to other staff members in the Program Director's office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years relevant office experience in an academic Health care setting
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge in graduate medical education, recruitment, international medical graduates, accreditation, medical student curriculum and annual cycle, and continuing medical education

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Maintains database and hard copy files of current and alumni staff. Ensures completion of house staff and faculty evaluations. Coordinates feedback process to division directors on faculty and rotation evaluations. Counsels house staff on program policies and procedures, evaluates morale, and responds to concerns. Tracks and verifies procedures. Drafts recommendation letters. Coordinates In-Training Examination administration.
  • Establishes recruitment policy with program director; screens and invites candidates; coordinates interview process, ranking process and post-match activities. Manager of Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) - a national database through which applicants apply to NYU WUH s Internal Medicine Residency Program; Manager of National Resident Matching Program. Coordinator of Out-of-match contract program.
  • Coordinates completion of Program Information Form (PIF) for ACGME site review. Prepares department, faculty and house staff for site visit. Uses internet surveys and national reports such as annual American Board of Internal Medicine tracking forms. Maintains current knowledge of state licensure requirements.
  • Acts as liaison between resident and attending staff. Coordinates semi-annual reviews of residents, graduation, and the scheduling of Morning Report Assignments for attending physicians as well as Ward Rounds. Arranges meeting with Internal Medicine Academic Coordinator, Residency Coordinator Representative, and Chief Residents before the new academic year begins to ensure communication and productivity of the program; Annual End-of-Year evaluation due from resident (April) internet surveys requested periodically throughout the year (i.e. ACGME Program Evaluation & ACGME Duty Hours, ABIM resident evaluations)Credentialing Procedures. Mini-Cex.
  • Oversees budget for residency program. Originates voucher payment requests for residents travel and various agencies connected with residency program (ie, ERAS, NRMP, APDIM dues,CareerMD). Monitors residency payroll. Orders Board Review material (MKSAP) for PGY-2s.
  • Active member of the following internal committees: Residency Evaluation, Residency Education, Subspecialty Education Coordinators, and Fellowship Education.
  • Oversee the Teaching Practice Clinic coverage with new incoming house staff and the attending preceptors assigned. Assist the rotating medical students with check-in in the absence of the Academic Coordinator. Ensure exit interviews and Board Review courses are scheduled.
  • Responsible for proper filing system is in place for current residents and graduates. Ensure Mini-Cex s are collected and filed, evaluations are set up in New Innovations, procedure logs are completed and filed, and verifications are completed in a timely manner for graduates to be credentialed.
