About The Position

The Perkins Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with College leadership, faculty and staff to assist in creating and supporting initiatives that lead to career readiness, attainment of degrees, certificates, and other industry-recognized credentials, for local populations as identified in Perkins guidelines, to succeed in high wage and high skill employment. The Coordinator also provides programmatic assistance, budgetary support, and technical assistance, working toward accomplishing the Perkins grant funding objectives in compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Education or related field. Experience performing the duties of this job substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
  • Three year(s) of experience writing grant proposals and reports, coordinating activities and teams to support a grant, and interpreting requests for proposals, reporting cycles and funding guidelines.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the purpose, goals, and challenges faced by students in higher education and/or career/technical programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working with faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of privilege and structural inequities and how they impact students.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work both independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities
