About The Position

The Coordinator of Undergraduate Student Recruitment serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students interested in undergraduate majors within the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. This role involves educating prospective students and their families about the opportunities available at the University of Arkansas, with a specific focus on Bumpers College. The Coordinator will be responsible for planning and hosting on- and off-campus events for prospective student visits, including school groups and admissions-related visits. This position will also develop and manage a pool of prospective students for Bumpers College, and implement effective recruitment strategies and events informed by market research and trend analysis to set and monitor goals. Additionally, the Coordinator will develop initiatives to promote a diverse student body that reflects the state's college-bound population and enhances the educational experience for all UA students. This includes representing the university and college at recruitment events statewide and nationally, designing and coordinating recruitment events for Bumpers College, acting as a liaison to the Office of Admissions, and undertaking other assigned responsibilities. This position requires overnight travel across Arkansas and nationally, as well as occasional weekend and evening work. Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to foster positive working relationships are essential.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least one year of experience in academic recruiting, enrollment services, academic advising, or related transferable experience in education or industry related to Bumpers College programs.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Must be able and willing to travel.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least two years of experience in academic recruiting, enrollment services, or academic advising.
  • At least one year of experience as an admissions counselor, student ambassador, or orientation leader.
  • Knowledge or experience within the various programs within Bumpers College.
  • Knowledge of university and admissions office procedures and policies.
  • Proven organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, demonstrate attention to detail, meet deadlines, plan events, and think creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, including the ability to present to a large audience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite Program.

Responsibilities

  • Travel overnight across the state of Arkansas and nationally.
  • Work occasional weekends and evenings.
