About The Position

Penn State Abington is seeking a full-time 10-month Coordinator of Game Day Operations and Intramurals to oversee game day operations, visiting team and game manager communication, and serve as a secondary statistician and/or game manager for selected home athletic department events. The Coordinator also programs and conducts the department's Intramural and Club sport offerings and provides support to department-wide events, such as the athletics banquet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Requires CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, travel with team and holidays.
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
  • A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Game day operations- works with the Assistant Athletic Director to schedule game managers, contacts visiting teams and officials to provide off-site facility information and directions, assists with set up and preparation of the fields/courts for game days
  • Coordinate intramural and athletic club activities. Promotes a wide scope of events, create activity schedules and facility needs and maintain all necessary paperwork.
  • Serve as a statistician when multiple athletic events are scheduled on the same days/times.
  • Works with Sports Information Director to set up live streaming, live statistics, music, and other peripherals for game day production.
  • Provide support for special events, such as the athletics banquet, conference championships that are hosted on campus, fundraising events, and attendance at student engagement events
  • Serve as a game administrator at home athletic events.
  • Coordinate with the game manager and campus police to maintain crowd control and safety for all those in attendance.
  • Supervise approximately 4-5 student workers.
  • Demonstrate adherence to University, United East, and NCAA rules and regulations, and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director
