About The Position

The Office of Human Resources and Talent Development (HRTD) strives to make Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) the employer of choice for instructional, administrative, and service employees in pursuit of the strategic goals of the school division. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Staffing, the Coordinator is responsible for conducting the onboarding process for a designated group of employees, which may include licensed, service, and/or hourly employees. The Coordinator will also serve as a staffing business partner to a designated group of administrators and hiring managers and assist administrators in monitoring ongoing eligibility and managing performance of employees.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Administration and Supervision
  • Experience in Master Scheduling
  • Postgraduate Professional Licensed issued by the Virgina Department of Education
  • Knowledge of School Division organization and instructional programs.
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of human resources functions including, but not limited to, contracting and recruitment/selection.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS (Munis) and similar employee management software.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment to meet goals.
  • Organize and perform work independently.
  • Work on multiple projects while meeting all deadlines.
  • Show sustained effort and enthusiasm in quality and quantity of work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist HR Operations in maintaining an accurate position control by advertising all vacant positions and promptly closing all filled positions.
  • Consult with the HR Generalist for Recruitment and Assistant Director for Staffing on specialized recruitment or advertising needs for positions.
  • Communicate with designated administrators and hiring managers concerning offers pending, offers accepted or declined.
  • Maintain an accurate list of vacancies for posting online and communication with job candidates and hiring managers.
  • Review applicant materials to verify eligibility for positions and communicate eligibility deficiencies to candidates and/or hiring managers.
  • Contact identified applicants to offer positions, process offers in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and monitor submission of onboarding documents.
  • Maintain data integrity in the ERP and other HR information systems (HRIS) to establish and improve core transactional HR processes as well as data entry.
  • Inputs, updates and processes employee information into our systems including, but not limited to, new hires, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments and terminations.
  • Resolves errors as required to maintain data integrity.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to position.
  • Respond to written and oral requests for information promptly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain a clean, neat appearance and dress appropriate to position and duties.
  • Maintain a record of appropriate attendance and punctuality.
