About The Position

The Coordinator of Career Readiness plays a vital role in equipping students with the tools, experiences, and networks necessary to thrive in their future careers. With a strong emphasis on career development, experiential learning, and employer engagement, this position coordinates initiatives that prepare students for meaningful employment and lifelong success. By integrating career readiness into onboarding, persistence, and engagement strategies, the Coordinator advances institutional goals of student belonging, satisfaction, and post-graduation outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2–4 years of experience in higher education, career services, student affairs, orientation, employer engagement, or related areas.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with employers, alumni, and community organizations.
  • Experience coordinating programs and events that support student success and career readiness.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive career readiness strategy in alignment with institutional mission and workforce needs.
  • Coordinate career exploration workshops, networking nights, career fairs, and employer panels.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with employers and community organizations to expand internship, mentoring, and career opportunities.
  • Partner with the Office of Alumni to build relationships with alumni for internship, mentoring, and resource opportunities.
  • Provide career coaching and resources to students.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate career readiness into the academic curriculum and advising pathways.
  • Track and report student career outcomes, employer engagement metrics, and participation in readiness programming.
  • Support student employment by gathering and disseminating information about job opportunities.
  • Track experiential learning across academic programs.
  • Maintain accurate records, event documentation, and career readiness outcome data.
  • Assist with budget planning, expense tracking, and vendor coordination for career events.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and reporting related to student engagement, persistence, and career outcomes.
  • Support additional transition-related initiatives, including transfer student support and engagement campaigns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Provost in alignment with academic support, career services, transition services, and related areas.
