About The Position

The Kinship Care Services Coordinator provides coordination and direct support to kinship caregivers—primarily grandparents raising grandchildren. This role oversees daily program operations, supervises Family Support Coordinators, and delivers services that strengthen caregiver stability and child well-being. The position is responsible for program delivery, community outreach, and resource navigation while promoting organizational goals and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services field required.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) on a constant basis.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to support caregivers, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently during events, outreach, and program activities.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, handling materials, and event setup.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly for phone, group facilitation, and in-person communication.
  • Visual ability to review documents, use a computer, and monitor activities during events.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly reflective supervision to support staff development and program effectiveness.
  • Conduct intake assessments and provide high-quality information and referral services to kinship caregivers.
  • Facilitate and develop caregiver support groups based on community needs.
  • Plan and coordinate educational sessions, recreational activities, and events for kinship families.
  • Develop content for newsletters, program communications, and website updates.
  • Maintain program data, statistics, and complete required reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct outreach through presentations, community events, and networking opportunities.
  • Build and strengthen community partnerships to support kinship caregivers and children.
  • Provide backup support to the Sr Manager as needed.
  • Support organizational events such as conferences, fundraisers, and service initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties and program initiatives as assigned.
